Clara married Benjamin Foster( born 20th November 1891 in Dudley UK)in Duquesne, Pennsylvania USA on 17th May 1913, one month after arriving on the SS Campania. Benjamin had left the UK a year before. He was a millwright and because of the depression in the steel industry he had left to find a better life in Pittsburgh. My grandmother told me that he was originally booked on the Titanic but because of the delay in her launch(well documented) he rebooked on the Campania arriving in New York on 12th March 1912, only a month before the Titanic sank. Clara’s brother William Edwin Ainsbury, also a steelworker, joined them later that year in September.
